Design That Moves – Melbourne’s State of Design Festival

by admin on July 18, 2011

Designers will meet. Ideas will clash, crash and mash at what they call the State of Design Festival and I call the madness of the year. If you consider yourself a creative and are interested in design and its ability to change and improve living conditions, you should take part. The schedule is packed with interesting events. We will definitely be present at Critical Mobility and Moving the design- Projector Bike.

Well, whom are we kidding? We are probably going to move there for good, to be able to participate to every event starting from the opening night. You are a busy fellow, we know, but you should at least make time to for 9 to 5 series where some of Melbourne’s leading designers pose questions to 5 of the world`s top design thinkers. And no, you won`t be just listening to genius talking all day long. You will be able to take part in seminars, workshops, exhibitions and a dozen of free events.

One not to miss is the Colour Trend Forecast Workshop.  This is an intense 2 day workshop to arm you with the knowledge and understanding of future trends, cyclical influences and the impact of these on the future of design.

The importance of the event is only matched by the variety of events and talks such as . The Festival Guide is a good starting point for clearing it all up for you. Read, choose and set the dates in your calendar. The signwriters will be there too.   There is also a cool workshop for design-savvy participants are given the opportunity to customise a pair of Melissa + Gaetano Pesce boots.

Love the nifty planner on the website too!
